Let’s talk about the blog posting and commenting assignment. How are you guys feeling about blogging and commenting? Do you really find yourself finding relevant readings independently to blog about? How about commenting – do you like leaving comments? What about receiving them? Go ahead and complete this Google Form so we can talk about our progress. I’ll share the results next class without names.

Creativity and Innovation Tools
Today we’re looking at tools that can support personal, professional, and K12 creativity. Before we start working on our digital story project, I want you all to investigate some existing creativity tools.
“Making Teachers Nerdy” is a blog that has a lot of creativity resources. Scroll through the blog and try something out. In addition, check out this blog called, “Free Technology for Teachers”. This one is by far my favorite blog for finding resources and it’s updated frequently. You’ll be sharing what you find – so be prepared!!!
There are no assignments due on Wednesday, unless you have anything overdue. If you want to think ahead to our Digital Storytelling Project, try looking at some tutorials to the following programs you may choose to use:
VoiceThread is an option for both Mac and PC users. You can create a free account and create up to 3 videos at no charge. While VoiceThread is designed primarily to allow others to comment on video and/or photos that you upload – you can use the comment feature to add narration to your video/photos. Here are some examples of VoiceThread projects used in various classrooms. You can access a tutorial for VoiceThread here. Or you can watch the tutorial made by an EDIT 2000 student.
If you have a Mac and you’ve been wanting to learn how to use iMovie – now is your chance. If you have a PC and you’ve been wondering about MovieMaker – you can use it to create your story. The links for each of these tools takes you to a tutorial. Ron will also be joining us later next week to teach us how to use iMovie and MovieMaker.
