Today is the last lab day for the Creativity Contract projects. Make sure to double-check the Creativity Contract website to ensure you are meeting all requirements for your projects.
Since this is our last day, I want to make sure you have plenty of time to have any questions addressed. I plan to check in with everyone, but will help those that are currently stuck on something first.
1. All parts of your Creativity Contract are due at the beginning of class on Monday, October 29. If you are using your late pass, all parts of your Creativity Contract are due at the beginning of class on Wednesday, October 31.
2. Remember this Friday, October 26, 2012 is a fall holiday. We will not be meeting. Be safe and have a wonderful, long weekend!
FOR WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY:
I will be in Louisville, Kentucky Wednesday and Friday of next week presenting two papers at the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) conference. Gretchen Thomas will be teaching this class Wednesday, where she will help your group complete one part of your Learning Adventure Project, namely, developing essential questions. She is a wonderful teacher and has been teaching EDIT 2000 for many years – you will love her. This means that Monday will be a VERY important class where we talk about your final project – if you miss this day for some reason, please read the blog posting and ask a classmate to bring you up to speed. I won’t be here the next day to catch you up (and Gretchen may not be able to address specific project requirements).
11/2 – Friday, I will ask that you work from home (or from the lab). I will have a blog posting with the next part of the project. Essentially, we will spend each day working through the next section of your learning adventure. Here’s how the schedule will play out:
10/29 – Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Introduction
10/31 – Essential Questions
11/2 – Hooking Students (The Anticipatory Set) – from home
11/5 – Creating a Graphic Organizer for Students
11/7 – Creating Exploration Activities for Students
11/9 – Creating ways for Students to Show What They Know
11/12 – Helping Students Find a Career/Parent-Teacher Letter
11/14 – Author Introduction Videos
11/16 – Workday for your group to finalize the Learning Adventure
11/19 – 11/23 – Thanksgiving Holiday
11/26 – 11/30 – Learning Adventures Showcase (Final Group Presentations) – I love this week!!! Plan to bring food!!!
